MVK Send FURIA Out of Worlds 2026 and Book a Karmine Corp Decider

MVK Esports are one series away from the Swiss Stage after closing out FURIA 3-1 on Saturday, October 17, in the Worlds 2026 Play-Ins lower bracket final. The loss ends the Brazilian side's tournament after three series. It also repeats the opening-day result, when MVK won 3-0.

Both teams arrived at this elimination series by way of the lower bracket. MVK dropped there on Friday when Karmine Corp swept them 3-0 in the upper bracket final. FURIA lost their opener to MVK, then beat Cloud9 3-1 on Friday to earn the rematch. According to reports, the Brazilians had reached Los Angeles only four days after losing the CBLOL final.

The kill totals show how lopsided three of the four games were. MVK finished the series ahead 67-44, and their three wins lasted 31, 27 and 28 minutes, an average of just under 29. Games 1 and 2 followed the same pattern. MVK took control of the map early and kept FURIA from building any fight of their own, and Game 2 was decided by MVK's edge in skirmishes and team fights.

FURIA's one win came in Game 3, and it was the longest game of the series. Ayu stopped MVK from snowballing another early lead, and FURIA then reversed the kill count, taking a 21-8 advantage and the Nexus after 36 minutes. That was five minutes longer than anything else in the series, and it kept the Brazilians alive for one more game.

Game 4 went back to MVK. Jungler Gury picked Wukong and used it to zone FURIA's players and set up fights on MVK's terms, while the team held vision around the map and built leads across the lanes. The Nexus fell at 28 minutes with MVK ahead 21-8 on kills, and FURIA had no answer to the coordinated play.

FURIA finish 18th and take home US$40,000. They are the second team out of Worlds 2026 after Cloud9. LØS are now Brazil's only remaining representative, and they start in the Swiss Stage.

Karmine Corp are waiting with a sweep already banked

The Play-Ins final is on Sunday, October 18, and only the winner advances. Karmine Corp, the LEC's third seed, opened their tournament with a 3-2 win over Cloud9. Caliste and Busio led the comeback in Games 4 and 5. They then swept MVK in the upper bracket final.

MVK have beaten FURIA twice. Against Karmine Corp they are looking for a first win after that 3-0 loss, and the loser of Sunday's series goes home.
