The MongolZ have rebuilt part of their Counter-Strike 2 lineup. The team has completed the signing of Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga from The Huns and moved Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar back into the starting five after almost three months on the bench.
The two arrivals fill the spots left by the benching of Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui. Their last appearance for the team came at FISSURE Playground 3, where cobrazera stood in for Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold.
A familiar face returns
For the 28-year-old nin9, this is a homecoming. He played for The MongolZ in 2018, when head coach Erdenedalai "maaRaa" Bayanbat was still in the lineup as a player.
He also reunites with two former teammates. Techno and Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren were with him on the IHC roster that made history in 2022 as the first Mongolian team to qualify for a Major. maaRaa coached that team, which went out 1-3 in the Challengers Stage in Antwerp.
That shared history is probably part of the appeal. Three of the five players in the new lineup, plus the head coach, have already worked together in that IHC setup.
Looking for stability
The timing says a lot about where the team stands. The MongolZ are currently ranked 48th in the world and could soon lose the No.2 spot in Asia to BC.Game. The team enters this stretch after what has been a rough start to the season, and the organization is clearly hoping the new additions steady things.

What comes next
The reworked roster will make its debut at 1win Private Club Season 2, a $100,000 LAN event in Belgrade running October 19-22. The MongolZ then play at PGL Masters Bucharest from October 24-31.
Those two events, back to back, will be the first real test of whether the changes can lift the team's results and protect its standing in Asia.
