KT Rolster Lock Down Bdd and PerfecT Through 2028 as LCK Offseason Opens

KT Rolster have re-signed midlaner Kwak "Bdd" Bo-seong and toplaner Lee "PerfecT" Seung-min to two-year contract extensions that run through 2028. The organization announced the deals on October 8, with a video on its official YouTube channel showing both players signing. Both were previously under contract through the end of 2026.

The timing matters. KT's season is still running, as the team is competing at the Demacia Cup Global Invitational in China after missing out on Worlds 2026. Yet the organization has already secured two of the players most likely to have drawn the biggest offers on the open market.

Why the early move matters

Both players were in KT's lineup when it reached the first League of Legends World Championship final in organization history in 2025. Despite KT's failure to qualify for Worlds this year, both were still regarded as premier free-agent targets this offseason, according to Sheep Esports.

The toplane market was the sharper concern. Sheep reports that every starting LCK toplaner's contract expires this offseason except Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo's. Hotspawn describes PerfecT as one of the most sought-after toplaners this year, and notes that other top laners are in flux:

  • Gen.G's Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, 27, will most likely play his last season of 2026 before beginning mandatory military service, according to Hotspawn.
  • Hanwha Life Esports' Choi "Zeus" Woo-je and T1's Choi "Doran" Hyeon-jun both have contracts expiring at the end of the season.

By re-signing PerfecT now, KT take one of the league's most valuable toplane profiles out of a market that could otherwise see a major shuffle for 2027.

Bdd's extension and the military question

Bdd, 27, was named LCK Player of the Year in 2025 after a season in which he led KT to the Worlds grand final, according to Hotspawn. He first joined KT in 2019 for one year and returned in 2023 after stints with Gen.G and Nongshim RedForce. He will be 29 when the new deal expires.

Hotspawn reports that the length of the extension was made possible in part by his military status. Because he did not complete secondary education, he was placed in an alternative or civilian service category rather than active-duty service. Under South Korean rules for his age group, someone in that category who is not called up or assigned service for three consecutive years is considered exempt.

"Having spent so much time together, KT has become the most natural place for me."

PerfecT, who Sheep Esports describes as a one-club player, also spoke about his ties to the team.

"It is a place like home where I started from the beginning."

What remains unsettled

KT's core is secured, but the bottom lane is not. Sheep Esports notes KT fielded three ADCs and three supports over the course of the year and is expected to spend the rest of the offseason building a more stable duo for 2027. Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo and Lee "Effort" Sang-ho, who are currently competing at the Demacia Cup Global Invitational, are both scheduled to see their contracts expire in November 2026.

Jungler Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan is under contract through 2027, meaning three of KT's five starting positions are now accounted for.

The next questions for KT are whether Jiwoo and Effort are retained before their contracts lapse in November, or whether the organization looks elsewhere to settle its bottom lane.
