FURIA will be Brazil's second representative at Worlds 2026. The organization swept LOUD 3-0 in the CBLOL Split 2 lower bracket final on Saturday, October 3, claiming the last berth at this year's League of Legends World Championship and a place in the grand final against LOS.
The result ended LOUD's campaign in third place and left the team without a spot at Worlds or any other international event this year. For FURIA, it closed out the 19-team Worlds field and put the team back in the series that will decide Brazil's seeds.
A sweep with one real scare
FURIA controlled most of the series and won all three games. The second game was the exception: LOUD built a significant early lead before FURIA fought back to take it. Winning from behind in that game kept LOUD from getting a foothold in a series it needed to win to stay alive.
The stakes were simple. The lower bracket final was the last route to Worlds for either side. Both CBLOL finalists represent Brazil at the event, so FURIA's win confirmed its spot, while LOUD's loss ended its year.
From 0-2 to Worlds
FURIA's route to Worlds looked very different at the start of Split 2. The reigning Split 1 champion lost its first two regular-season series, going down 2-0 to LOS and to Vivo Keyd Stars. It then did not lose again in the regular season, beating LOUD, Fluxo W7M, RED Canids, paiN Gaming and LEVIATÁN in succession to finish 5-2.
The playoffs followed a similar pattern. FURIA opened with a 3-0 upper-bracket sweep of RED Canids, then lost 3-1 to LOS in the next round and dropped to the lower bracket. There it met RED again and won a five-game series 3-2, before beating LOUD to finish the run.
A busy international year
Worlds is the fourth international event FURIA has qualified for in 2026.
FURIA's 2026 international season
One report also described FURIA as the Brazilian team with the most international appearances in a single year, citing the Americas Cup, MSI, the Esports World Cup and now Worlds. FURIA's results at the two international events since March were less successful than the Americas Cup, but Worlds gives the team another shot on the biggest stage.
What the grand final decides
FURIA and LOS meet on October 10 in Rio de Janeiro for the Split 2 title. Both are already going to Worlds, but the series sets their paths there.
Why the seed matters
The CBLOL champion goes straight to the Swiss Stage. The runner-up enters the Play-In Stage, where only one spot in the next stage is available.
The second seed would play in the Play-In alongside the third seeds from the LEC, LCS and LCP. That group includes Karmine Corp from the LEC and MVK Esports from the LCP. One report lists the LCS third seed as either Cloud9 or LYON, while the other reports do not name the team, so that slot remains unclear.
| Seed | Route at Worlds 2026 |
|---|---|
| CBLOL champion | Direct to the Swiss Stage |
| CBLOL runner-up | Play-In Stage, one spot available |
FURIA beat LOS 3-1 in the Split 1 final, but LOS won their Split 2 playoff meeting by the same score, so the grand final is a genuine rematch between two teams with a win each.
Worlds schedule
Worlds 2026 runs in the United States from October 15 to November 14. The Play-In Stage opens the tournament at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The event then moves to Allen, Texas, for the Swiss Stage, quarterfinals and semifinals, and the grand final will be played at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Before any of that, FURIA and LOS meet in Rio on October 10 in the final CBLOL series of the split.
